Salary Range: $46.94 – $85.76/hour (DOE)

Job Overview
The staff RN is a licensed professional who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame. The RN delivers safe, quality care using the nursing process as the foundation for clinical practice. This role functions within ANA Standards and the Nurse Practice Act, maintaining a community‑centered, compassionate environment with excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

Provides direct patient care, monitors clinical status, and implements nursing interventions.

Assesses unit workflow, assigns patients based on acuity, and ensures continuity of care.

Mentors and integrates new staff, including float and agency personnel, into unit culture.

Serves as a clinical resource, demonstrating safe use of equipment and teaching others.

Evaluates and reports nursing care, identifies quality gaps, and monitors compliance with standards.

Responds to patient and family concerns, reports significant events and activates the chain of command.

Participates in performance appraisal, staffing coverage, and fiscal responsibility for shift operations.

Collaborates with bed placement and clinical resources to expedite patient transfers.

Qualifications & Experience

Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Washington.

BSN preferred; requirement of two years’ practice or graduate nurse residency orientation.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and customer‑service skills.

Proficiency in electronic documentation, order entry, and information access.

Self‑directed in continuing education and evidence‑based practice.

Certifications & Training

ACLS and PALS within 3 months of hire.

NIHSS certification within 3 months of hire.

TNCC, ENPC, and other unit‑specific certifications within 12 months of hire as applicable.

In addition, expertise in specific units (e.g., PACU, EM, ICU) is preferred or required based on specialty.

Physical & Mental Demands
Requires safe patient handling, lifting up to 40 pounds, operating patient‑handling equipment, reaching, stooping, and walking for extended periods. Must have full body range of motion, corrected vision, and hearing within normal limits.
