
Behavioral Health Crisis Therapist- North

Responsibilities
Conduct crisis mental health and substance abuse evaluations for consumers.
Evaluate biopsychosocial status and develop an appropriate treatment/crisis plan.
Provide 24‑hour mental health/substance abuse emergency resources within Central Indiana.
Triage patients accurately and efficiently in various settings (e.g., Pavilion, ER, medical unit).
Determine level of care and assess risk (suicide, homicide) for patients presenting in crisis.
Conduct crisis intervention, support services, and mental health/chemical‑dependency screening for consumers and family members.
Coordinate direct admissions between patients’ providers, inpatient psychiatrists, and inpatient units.
Maintain comprehensive documentation for all crisis and case‑management services.
Provide off‑site and community‑based response, and consult with medical units as needed.
Offer consultation and education to hospital staff and external customers.
Screen for acute care services, including partial, outpatient, and case management.
Provide psychiatric coverage to Network Emergency departments and other departments as required.
Present detailed cases to insurance reviewers for certification and to psychiatrists on high‑risk patients.
Participate in aggressive behavior management appropriate to the population served.
Qualifications
LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT license in the State of Indiana required.
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a mental‑health related field required.
2+ years of experience providing mental‑health treatment required.
Past experience in crisis triage and management, risk assessment, and working with mentally ill and chemically‑dependent populations preferred.
Experience in a medical milieu preferred.
Excellent communication skills, teamwork, and a positive problem‑solving attitude required.
