Job Title and Location
Breast Sonographer

Work Location:

North San Antonio, TX

Work Hours:

Part Time | 7:30 am - 4:30 pm or 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Responsibilities

Operate sonography equipment independently to create necessary images and obtain measurements.

Maintain a high degree of accuracy in positioning and scanning technique.

Communicate with patients and relay pertinent information to the radiologist; document on tracking sheet/chart.

Communicate with the radiologist and perform any additional required exams.

Provide services and support for the areas listed in the day-to-day responsibilities of the role.

Ensure patient comfort and cooperation by explaining procedures adequately.

Monitor during all phases of the procedure with attention to patient emotional and physical well-being.

Assist and/or chaperone radiologists during ultrasound exams.

Assist radiologists during ultrasound biopsy procedures using sterile technique and universal precautions.

Maintain ultrasound equipment cleanliness and ensure proper equipment maintenance and safety.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program. Training outside the US reviewed case-by-case with HR approval.

Certificates: Active certification with ARDMS (SPI alone not eligible) or ARRT(S). ARRT-BS acceptable if performing breast sonography only. Current CME requirements.

Computer Skills: Knowledge of database software and RIS/PACS software.

Physical demands: Ability to stand for long periods.

Provide services and support for the following areas:

Understand, promote and demonstrate the Solis Way

Produce high-quality ultrasound images and obtain appropriate measurements for each exam

Document all applicable patient and procedure data consistently

Explain procedures adequately to maximize patient comfort and cooperation

Monitor during all phases of the procedure with care for patient well-being

Assist and/or chaperone radiologists during ultrasound exams

Assist radiologists during ultrasound biopsy procedures with sterile technique

Communicate patient information professionally to patients and referring physicians

Maintain ultrasound equipment and ensure proper maintenance and safety

Maintain good working relationships with Radiologists and Center staff
