Senior Advisor
Nicsa, Topeka, KS, United States
Overview
Stepp & Rothwell is a boutique, multi-family office providing comprehensive financial planning, investment management, and ongoing coordination for about 300 families nationwide. Our model is built on long-term relationships, proactive planning, and high-touch client service. We meet with clients quarterly and coordinate all aspects of their financial lives—not just investments. Responsibility for follow through does not sit with the client – it sits with us.
Over the past decade, we have developed advisors internally and built a deeply relationship-driven firm. As we continue to grow, we are adding a senior advisor who can both serve clients and help accelerate the development of our next generation of advisors.
The Role
This is not a traditional advisor role. You will not be expected to bring in clients or manage a team. Instead, you will operate as a senior extension of firm leadership—working directly with us, sitting in client meetings, and helping elevate both client experience and advisor capability.
What You’ll Do
Participate in client meetings alongside advisors and firm leadership
Help guide conversations, refine recommendations, and build client confidence
Support advisors in preparing for meetings and thinking through complex situations
Provide real-time coaching and feedback to developing advisors
Model best practices in communication, organization, and client service
Support and reinforce follow through and coordination between meetings
What You Won’t Do
You will not be responsible for business development
You will not manage or supervise advisors
You will not “take over” client relationships
You will not operate independently without integration into the team
Who You Are
15+ years of experience in financial planning or wealth management
CFP® professional
Strong presence in client conversations—calm, confident, and thoughtful
High emotional intelligence and low ego
Highly organized and detail-oriented
Enjoy working collaboratively rather than independently
Take pride in helping others grow and succeed
What We’re Looking For (Beyond Experience)
This role is best suited for someone who has already proven themselves in the industry and is seeking a more collaborative, team-based environment.
We Are Looking For Someone Who
Raises the level of everyone around them
Knows when to step in—and when to step back
Can build trust with clients without needing to own the relationship
Brings structure, clarity, and calm to complex situations
Compensation
Base salary: $150,000–$200,000
Performance-based incentives
Potential for long-term incentive compensation
