Required Qualifications (Pathology Assistant / PA)
PA (ASCP) certification (Pathology Assistant certification)
Active Florida state license
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Pathology Assistant in a hospital or surgical pathology setting
Extensive grossing experience with all specimen types and sizes, including large specimens (breast, colon, complex oncology cases)
Proven ability to float between hospital campuses and adapt to multiple sites
Experience with Laboratory Information System (LIS) and accurate gross documentation
Strong communication, teamwork, and adherence to laboratory safety and compliance standards
Key Responsibilities
Grossing all specimen types and sizes, including large and complex oncology cases (surgical pathology grossing)
Accurately document gross descriptions and complete required specimen documentation in the LIS
Ensure proper specimen handling, labeling, and chain-of-custody for diagnostic accuracy
Collaborate closely with pathologists, histology, and laboratory staff to support high-quality patient care
Float between hospital campuses as required and maintain flexibility across multiple clinical sites
Maintain compliance with laboratory protocols, safety standards, and CAP/CLIA guidelines
