Join our team as a

Parking Operations Supervisor

and play a key role in ensuring a safe, efficient, and welcoming parking experience for residents, visitors, and businesses. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys project management, community engagement, and helping maintain high-quality public infrastructure.

Duties include:

Research and respond to parking inquiries and concerns from the public.
Liaison with the Town Center Advisory Board, the Resort Area Advisory Committee, the Police Department, and various stakeholders and ownership interests and attend meetings as needed.
Conduct parking facilities operational and maintenance inspections.
Maintain City parking resources to ensure cleanliness and attractiveness to customers and maximize safety and security within budgetary constraints.
Monitor parking management contractors' compliance with city policies.
Serve as a project manager for parking facility rehabilitation and replacement projects. Provide oversight into the garage capital maintenance program and work scheduling and keep detailed records of past work and warranty documentation as well as on-going facility conditions.
Interface with vendors and ensure contract compliance. Meet and communicate with staff in other City departments.
Participate in special events planning to maximize parking availability, safety, and security while ensuring financial sustainability of the parking system.
Perform other job duties requiring skills, knowledge and physical requirements as demanded by those duties described or less. Individual assignments will be determined by the supervisor based on the current workloads and department needs.

Minimum Requirements:

MINIMUMS: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to six (6) years in fields related to parking administration and operation, business management, or public administration which provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must have, or obtain, a current and valid Virginia or North Carolina drivers license in accordance with Virginia or North Carolina DMV drivers license eligibility requirements. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: All employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies.

Attachments Required:

Preferences:

Bachelor's degree in Planning, Business Administration, or Public Administration; five years experience in parking or closely related field.
Experience managing a capital maintenance program
Experience and knowledge of federal, state, and local laws/policies and procedures relevant to municipality
Experience with enterprise operating budgets.
knowledge and Experience with the Americans with Disabilities Act and its application to parking facilities.
Experience supervising professional and/or clerical staff
Experience with attending civic forums and special interest groups to address parking concerns.
Experience with maintaining inventory records for Parking Management signage and vehicles
Customer service experience

RS Contribution:

All full-time employees are required to contribute 5% of annual salary toward their retirement account; in accordance with VRS retirement provisions. This will be handled through a pre-tax payroll deduction.
