Job Summary
Hands on, working supervisor. Works alongside the crew loading trucks and handling pallets. Works with production manager in the coordination and scheduling of workflow within or between plant functional areas to expedite production while producing a superior product.
Job Responsibilities
Establish production, inventory and quality control standards
Prepare and distribute required daily reporting
Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules and expedites workflow
Coordinate and work with manager and workers for timely production of all jobs, maintenance or normal inventory and development of new products
Oversee inspection of products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines; estimate, requisition and inspect materials and supplies
Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations
Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances
Participate in the development of work plans
Examine defective machinery to determine cause of the malfunction and perform repairs or refers to maintenance crew
Set up and operate machinery and forklift
Inspects work in progress and finished product
Enforce safety regulations
Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of equipment
Analyze and resolve work problems
Complete yard projects with available resources
Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed
Job Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. High school diploma or GED equivalent; or at least one - three years of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Must have project management abilities and a solid understanding of workflow processes as well as being able to work with timelines and accuracy to specified deadlines
Must have forklift experience
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
Ability to compute rate, ration and percent
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
Encompass supervisory skills while maintaining a team atmosphere
Conduct self with integrity and ethical practices
Good written and verbal communications skills with the ability to relate with every level of the organization effectively
Demonstrate ability to delegate and/or authority where applicable
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals
Ability to be a self-starter and work independently
Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak or hear
The employee will be required to stand for extended periods of time
The employee must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 65 lbs. from the ground level. The need to lift over 65 lbs. may arise from time to time - should this be the case, employees should engage in team lifting and/or use the provided equipment to safely lift
The employee must have the capability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs, and your whole body - bending, crouching, climbing - using steps and ladders, pushing pulling, stooping and reaching
