
Vertical Transportation Supervisor

Job Description
The Vertical Transportation Supervisor oversees the installation, maintenance, and repair of vertical transportation systems, including elevators, escalators, moving walkways, and related conveyance equipment. This role ensures compliance with Nevada state regulations, safety standards, and project specifications. The supervisor will manage a team of technicians and coordinate with contractors, engineers, and building management to deliver reliable and efficient vertical transportation maintenance and related solutions.
Responsibilities
Hold a C-7 license in accordance with Nevada Administrative Code § 624.250
Supervise and schedule installation, maintenance, and repair activities for elevators, escalators, dumbwaiters, conveyors, and moving walkways.
Ensure all work complies with code requirements covering elevation and conveyance systems.
Oversee safety protocols, inspections, and testing in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for vertical transportation systems.
Train and mentor technicians on proper installation and maintenance procedures.
Coordinate with building owners, architects, and engineers to ensure system designs meet operational requirements.
Maintain accurate documentation of service records, inspections, and compliance reports.
Respond to emergency service calls and troubleshoot system failures promptly.
Ensure adherence to company policies and OSHA safety standards.
Qualifications
Nevada C-7 Contractor License (specialty in elevation and conveyance systems).
Minimum 5 years of experience in elevator/escalator installation and maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of vertical transportation systems, electrical controls, and mechanical components.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Familiarity with state building codes, ADA requirements, and safety regulations.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with modern elevator control systems and smart building integration.
Project management certification or equivalent experience.
Proficiency in maintenance management software.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in confined spaces.
Comfortable working at heights and in machine rooms.
