About the Role:

The Yard Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing the daily operations of the yard to ensure efficient, safe, and organized handling of materials, equipment, and vehicles. This position is responsible for coordinating activities among yard staff, managing inventory flow, and maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The Yard Supervisor acts as the primary point of contact for resolving operational issues and optimizing yard processes to support overall business objectives. They lead by example, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the yard environment. Ultimately, the Yard Supervisor ensures that yard operations run smoothly, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in yard operations, logistics, or a related supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in yard or warehouse environments.
Ability to read and interpret inventory and shipping documentation.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:

Associate degree or higher in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
Experience with yard management software or inventory control systems.
Certification in forklift operation or other relevant equipment.
Demonstrated leadership experience in a fast-paced industrial or logistics setting.
Familiarity with OSHA regulations and environmental compliance standards.
Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate the activities of yard personnel to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to safety protocols.
Manage the receipt, storage, and dispatch of materials and equipment, maintaining accurate inventory records.
Conduct regular inspections of the yard to identify and address safety hazards or operational inefficiencies.
Collaborate with logistics, warehouse, and maintenance teams to optimize yard operations and support timely deliveries.
Train, mentor, and evaluate yard staff performance, providing guidance and support to promote professional development.
Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and environmental standards within the yard.
Prepare and submit reports on yard activities, incidents, and performance metrics to management.
