Overview
The manufacture of test fixtures from raw materials and the assembly of the test components to the test fixtures. We provide shipyard support including but not limited to weld engineering, ships test organization and nuclear test organization. This requires the candidate to be proficient in small machine shop manufacturing using machine tools such as vertical milling machines, lathes, drill presses, band saws, surface grinders, etc.
The other area of responsibility is the fabrication of test stands, test set up and the execution of off hull testing of prototype and submarine equipment.
Qualifications
Required:
High School graduate or equivalent
5 years or more machining experience
The candidate must be proficient in both manual and CNC machining operations
Prototrak and conversational programming required
The candidate must be competent in blueprint reading, shop math, inspection techniques employing measuring instruments (for checking dimensions to plan tolerances).
Preferred:
Job shop experience preferred
Candidate that can grind/modify cutters (toolmaker or equivalent experience) preferred
Skills
Candidate should be able to work independently and develop their own processes
