
Material Services Team Leader - 2nd Shift

We are actively seeking a Team Leader to join our Material Services team on 2nd Shift (core schedule, Monday through Thursday, 4:00 pm to 12:30 am and Friday 3:30 pm too 12:00 am)
In general, Team Leaders should model every aspect of behavior required for associates at JIC including professionalism, teamwork, job performance, and support for JIC plans, policies, and operations. They should carry out their routine responsibilities as well as other assigned tasks by motivating associates positively and constructively whenever possible. Team Leaders should take initiative (be proactive) to solve problems and overcome obstacles necessary to complete their work. Also, they should follow up and thoroughly communicate as necessary.
JOB DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:
SUPPORTS SAFETY PROGRAM BY PROMOTING SAFETY, PROVIDING TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES AND ENFORCING SAFETY POLICIES
TRACK AND MONITOR ASSOCIATE SAFETY TO MEET ESTABLISHED TARGET GOALS
ENSURE ASSOCIATES PERFORM COP OF THEIR AREAS
MODEL FOR ATTENDANCE. EXPECTED TO WORK UNLESS THEIR ABSENCE HAS BEEN PLANNED AND APPROVED IN ADVANCE
COMPLETE DAILY TASKS IN SUCH A WAY AS TO MAKE THE REQUIRED PRODUCTION AS EFFICIENT AS POSSIBLE, NOT JUST FOR THEIR SHIFT BUT FOR BOTH SHIFTS IN SHIPPING
FILLS IN FOR VACATIONS AND ABSENCES WHILE MAINTAINING TEAM LEADER ACTIVITIES
ENSURE DAILY WORK IS DONE IN SUCH A WAY THAT THEY DO NOT ACCEPT, DO NOT MAKE, AND DO NOT PASS ON BAD PARTS
COMMUNICATE AND ADDRESS ANY SHORTAGES OR QUALITY ISSUES OF PARTS WITH ALL INFORMATION AS POSSIBLE SO THAT ROOT CAUSE CAN BE IDENTIFIED AND COUNTERMEASURED BY THE RESPONSIBLE DEPARTMENT
FOLLOW-UP COMMUNICATION WITH OTHER SHIFTS, RETRAINING ASSOCIATES, AND TEAMWORK ARE KEY
TRAIN AND FOLLOW UP AS NECESSARY TO ENSURE THAT ALL START-UP AND TUGGER AND FORKLIFT CHECKS ARE DONE CORRECTLY AND ON TIME
OBSERVE BREAKS AND LUCHE PERIODS. STAGGERING THEIR BREAKS AND LUNCH WITH MANAGEMENT SO THAT A MEMEBER OF LEADERSHIP TEAM IS ALWAYS ON THE FLOOR
TEAM LEADERS SHOULD ALWAYS BE ON TIME FOR THEIR WORK SHIFT, ARRIVING 30 MINUTES BEFORE SHIFT START, PREPARED FOR WORK. THIS IS 30 MINUTES SHOULD BE USED FOR COMMUNICATION, PLANNING, ETC.
UNLESS A TEAM LEADER IS AT LUNCH OR BREAK, THEY SHOULD BE IN THEIR AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY, CHECKING, FOLLOWING UP, PLANNING, OR BEING AVAILABLE FOR ASSOCIATES AT ALL TIMES. IF REQUIRED TO BE AWAY FROM THEIR AREA FOR AN EXTENDED TIME, ASSOCIATES SHOULD KNOW WHERE TO REACH THEM
RESPONSIBLE FOR TRAINING ALL ASSOCAITES IN THEIR AREA OF RESPONSBILITY TO PREFORM THEIR JOBS CORRECTLY. FOLLOW-UP REGULARLY TO ENSURE CORRECT PROCEDURES ARE FOLLOWED.

SKILLS:
PRIOR FORKLIFT AND TUGGER EXPERIENCE PREFERRED; OR MUST OBTAIN CERTIFICATION WITHIN 6 MONTHS OF STARTING POSITION
MUST HAVE PRIOR COMPUTER EXPERIENCE:
PLEX EXPERIENCE IS PREFERRED;
EXCEL EXPERIENCE IS PREFERRED
UNDERSTANDING OF JIC'S PRODUCTION AND QUALITY REQUIREMENTS
