Position Title: Production Scheduler

Summary
This role is with a dynamic and growing organization within the
food manufacturing sector that specializes in high-volume production and
quality-driven distribution. They are seeking a meticulous Production Scheduler
to lead the development and maintenance of detailed production schedules. The
successful candidate will ensure the efficient use of labor, ingredients,
packaging materials, and processing equipment. This position is critical in
balancing customer demand, food safety requirements, and inventory constraints
to meet delivery goals while supporting overall regulatory compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited
to:
Schedule
Management:
Create and manage daily and weekly production schedules based on purchase
order demand and facility capacity.
Operational
Efficiency:
Sequence production runs to reduce changeover time, minimize allergen
cross-contact risks, and maximize equipment throughput.
Real-Time
Adaptation:
Adjust schedules dynamically based on plant conditions, including
equipment downtime, ingredient shortages, or quality holds.
Inventory
Oversight:
Monitor ingredient lead times, expiration dates, and FIFO (First-In,
First-Out) usage to prevent spoilage and minimize waste.
Cross-Functional
Collaboration:
Partner with inventory control to maintain optimal levels for just-in-time
production and ensure total regulatory traceability.
Internal Liaison:
Act as the
primary point of contact for operations regarding schedule status and
priorities; they will work closely with production supervisors to confirm
feasibility regarding labor or equipment constraints.
Communication:
Proactively
communicate all schedule updates and changes to the production,
procurement, quality, and logistics teams.
Qualifications
Industry
Expertise:
Proven background in managing diverse or high-volume food production
operations (e.g., ready-to-eat, bakery, dairy, meat, beverages, or
ingredient manufacturing).
Technical
Proficiency:
Ability to maintain rigorous production data within ERP/MRP systems,
specifically regarding process orders and batch records.
Regulatory
Knowledge:
Strong familiarity with food quality systems, including a solid
understanding of HACCP, GMPs, allergen control, and sanitation
requirements.
Analytical Skills:
High-level
competency in Excel and data analysis to drive informed scheduling
decisions.
Required
2-5 years of
professional production planning or scheduling experience, specifically
within the food or beverage manufacturing industry.
Direct experience
working with ERP/MRP systems.
Demonstrated
problem-solving skills and the ability to manage time effectively in a
fast-paced environment.
Preferred
Bilingual
proficiency in English and Spanish.
Bachelor's degree
in Supply Chain, Operations, Food Science, Business, or a related field.
Experience in
"Just-In-Time" (JIT) manufacturing environments.
Advanced
certification in Production and Inventory Management (e.g., CPIM).
