Overview
PURPOSE STATEMENT:
Proactively monitor utilization of services for patients to optimize reimbursement for the facility.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
This position requires a thorough understanding of facility's treatment program and philosophy and a working knowledge of various aspects of alcoholism and drug abuse. This individual must have an ability to coordinate the facility's utilization review process for an assigned caseload. This individual must be able to work professionally with managed care companies to certify benefits for patient treatment.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
One year of experience in the substance abuse field.
Specialized training or knowledge in chemical dependency treatment.
Ability to work with male and female, adult (18-over) substance abuse/dually diagnosed population.
LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:
CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training offered by facility).
