Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fire Alarm / Electronic Security Technician to join our team. In this role, you will install, program, service, and maintain a variety of fire alarm and electronic security systems while delivering exceptional customer support. This position requires strong technical knowledge, problem-solving ability, and a customer-first mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Install, program, test, and service fire alarm, life safety, and electronic security systems.
Perform system inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs using standard tools and diagnostic equipment.
Interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to determine installation and service procedures.
Provide technical support and training to customers, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
Analyze system performance, identify malfunctions, and implement corrective solutions.
Complete system commissioning, start-up, and close-out documentation.
Ensure all systems meet applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations.
Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to support project execution and continuous improvement.
Assist in mentoring and training less experienced technicians.
Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
Travel to job sites as required and support multiple projects simultaneously.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED (required).
Associate degree in Electronics or related field (preferred).
3-5 years of experience in field service or electronic systems (preferred).
Knowledge of fire alarm systems, electronic security systems, and building automation.
Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and specifications.
Strong understanding of electrical and electronic principles (e.g., Ohm's Law, relay logic).
Experience with installation tools and equipment (drills, wire strippers, crimpers, etc.).
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Certifications & Licenses
NICET Level II - Fire Alarm Systems (preferred/required depending on jurisdiction)
Local/State Electrical License (as required)
EST4 Certification (preferred)

Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
