About the Role
The Company is in search of a Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to play a pivotal role in the organization's long-term health and stability. The CRO will be tasked with leading enterprise risk management, overseeing regulatory relationships, and ensuring compliance with legal affairs. This executive position demands a minimum of 10 years' progressive leadership experience in financial services, with a strong background in risk management, compliance, legal, or human resources. The successful candidate will be responsible for effectively communicating policy changes across all departments, acting as the primary liaison for state regulatory examinations, and advising the executive team and Board of Directors on emerging risks and appropriate responses. A risk-aware culture is a key focus, and the CRO will work closely with the executive team and Board to promote this throughout the organization.
Applicants for the CRO position at the company should hold a bachelor's degree, with a Juris Doctor (JD) or other advanced degree being valued. Experience in BSA/AML compliance, particularly in a Bank Secrecy Act Officer function, is highly desirable, as is a background in government affairs or legislative advocacy at the state or federal level. The role requires a trusted advisor who can partner collaboratively with all lines of business and is dedicated to safeguarding the organization's interests. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, capable of monitoring regulatory and legislative developments, and will have a proven track record of fostering a strong, risk-aware culture within a financial services environment.
