About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to join its Executive Management Team. The CRO will play a pivotal role in the establishment and maintenance of the Bank's risk appetite, leading the enterprise risk management program, and overseeing key risk functions such as compliance management, AML/CFT, OFAC, information security, and internal audit. This executive will be responsible for ensuring that the Bank's risk management practices are in line with its strategic goals and that the institution remains in compliance with all relevant regulations. The CRO will also be a key liaison with examiners, regulators, and auditors, and will represent the Bank in the local community.
Applicants for the CRO position at the company should have a comprehensive knowledge of community banking operations, with a strong focus on compliance, risk management, security, and banking regulation. The role requires a candidate with a proven track record in leadership, team development, and performance management. Excellent communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work with executive leadership and the Board. A Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field, along with a minimum of 6 years' experience in risk management at a financial institution, is also a necessary qualification. The ideal candidate will have expertise in federal and state banking regulations and be adept at using common computer applications.
