Job Summary
The Logistics Specialist supports supply chain and manufacturing operations by ensuring accurate inventory management, cost control, and efficient logistics processes. This role involves working with ERP/MRP systems, performing data analysis, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain data integrity and operational effectiveness.
Education & Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma required
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business or Supply Chain preferred
Minimum of 3 years of experience
in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or Logistics
Previous
MRP experience required ; SAP experience preferred
Core Competencies:
Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, including master data management and inventory transactions
Strong data analysis and reporting skills using Excel and data warehouse tools
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Self-motivated with strong decision-making and influencing skills
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Highly organized and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Key Responsibilities:
Logistics Responsibilities (70%)
Execute daily, weekly, and monthly logistics transactions to ensure inventory and cost accuracy
Support Plant Accountant with inventory verification activities, including stock take observations and audits
Collaborate with Site Logistics Coordinator, Production Scheduler, Process Engineer, and Logistics leadership to maintain accurate BOMs, routings, buffer stock, and production data
Manage ERP system transactions, including goods receipts, production confirmations, pipeline transfers, and inventory movements
Resolve issues related to blocked or quarantined inventory and non-standard production activities
Prepare and deliver monthly inventory and cost accuracy reports
Lead root cause investigations for inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions
Reconcile batch failures, close production orders in SAP, and troubleshoot data discrepancies
Coordinate railcar operations, including switch orders and monomer consumption calculations to optimize inbound deliveries and reduce costs
Provide backup support for Site Logistics Coordinator responsibilities as needed
Office-Related Responsibilities (25%)
Serve as SharePoint Administrator and Document Control Coordinator
Support ISO 9001 certification and OSHA Process Safety Management compliance
Maintain file system structure, document control processes, and record retention requirements
Oversee local purchasing activities, including monitoring purchase orders
Additional Responsibilities (5%)
Completes all assigned action items tracked in IMPACT system
Supports all AIMS initiatives
Comply with the HSEQ Policy.
Comply with Regulations, Legal and Internal Requirements as made known by the site and by the business unit (BU).
Comply with the rules of the specific location to which one is assigned as well as the rules set by the business unit (BU) and the company.
Comply with all standard procedures and work instructions, aka SP, SOP, PWI, TM, to ensure productivity, quality assurance and cost effectiveness.
Review their work areas for potential losses and Report hazards to the direct supervisor.
Report Near Misses to the direct supervisor.
Report Incidents or Accidents to the direct supervisor.
Identify and communicate potential gains or possible improvements to the management system.
Participate in HSEQ activities provided by the site management & the company.
Ensures workplace safety by conducting safety observations and reviews while adhering to safety regulations and procedures.
