
Test Barn Escort

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES:
Escort race winner along with other horses determined by the stewards to the test barn for testing.
Ensures no unscrupulous behavior occurs during the walk to test barn (no administration of drugs or any foreign substances).
Assists in the safety of escorting said horses to the test barn. (should the horse in question gets loose escort attempts to catch the horse)
Carries groom apron bag to and from holding barn to the winners circle for every race.
Maintains own pony horses and assists outriders with loose horses between races.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Must have at least two trained, sound, and athletic horses in the necessary level of fitness capable of supporting an outrider in his duties
Must be able to work effectively with peers, staff members, and regulatory agency personnel.
Strong written and oral communication skills required.
Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Knowledge of the rules and regulations as specified in the OHRC rule rook.
