O’Connor is looking for a leader who can take everything that exists and build it into something that runs and scales without the owners in every decision. Mauloa, a private equity partner who specializes in investing in family businesses with no timelines, has invested alongside the O’Connor family to support this next chapter.
Brothers Tommy and Kevin O’Connor currently run the business, with Kevin focused on finance and business development and Tommy overseeing plumbing training and education. An existing partner will continue to own and run all field operations.
The President and COO will step in as the organizational leader and will have the following characteristics:
• Scaled a trade-based business greater than $75 million in revenue.
• A player/coach who loves people. A leader who has a history of continuously attracting, onboarding, and developing talent.
• Customer obsessed.
• A continuous learner and competitor.
As President and COO you will:
• Lead the full organization. Own the cadence, the meetings, the decisions, and accountability.
• Build and develop the leadership team. Raise the talent bar on every hire and develop department heads who can run their functions.
• Own financial performance. Drive revenue, cost, and margin outcomes and ensure the business hits its budget.
• Build the infrastructure for scale. Implement systems, processes, and technology, including AI tools, that make the business smarter, leaner, and more capable of growing without proportional cost increases.
