Visual Support Assistant – Manufacturing
Location: Dubuque, IA
Duration: 12 months with possible extension
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail‑oriented Visual Design & 5S Support Specialist to support facility operations through effective visual manufacturing solutions. This role focuses on designing, producing, and maintaining signage while supporting 5S initiatives, inventory control, and continuous improvement across the plant.
Key Responsibilities
Design print‑ready layouts for custom signage, factory shadow boards, and visual displays using Adobe Illustrator and related design software.
Manage the 5S request queue and associated tracking systems.
Print and produce labels, decals, banners, and signage for facility‑wide use.
Maintain print room supplies, raw materials, and related inventories.
Coordinate with skilled trades to support material preparation for signboards and displays.
Place and track external orders for printing supplies, media, and consumables.
Collaborate with 5S Process Design Specialists and Process Improvement Specialists to develop effective visual solutions for manufacturing operations.
Maintain and update the 5S SharePoint site.
Manage inventory for 5S keep‑fill items.
Perform ongoing maintenance, updates, and repairs of existing factory signage.
Complete additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Experience with Adobe Illustrator or similar design tools required.
Familiarity with 5S, Lean Manufacturing, or visual management principles preferred.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple requests and priorities.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality and consistency.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams and skilled trades.
