Board Certified Behavior Analyst (Richmond)
Take a Seat People, Richmond, VA, United States
Clinical Director (BCBA) – Richmond
This is an established ABA service with two clinics in the Richmond market, one in Richmond and one in Colonial Heights.
The clinical team is already in place, including BCBAs, BCaBAs, and interns working toward certification. This role isn’t about building from zero. It’s about leading, developing, and refining what’s already there.
What the role involves
You’ll oversee the clinical programme across both sites, with responsibility for:
Supporting and developing supervisors (BCBAs, BCaBAs, interns)
Reviewing assessments and clinical work
Maintaining standards across the team
Being present day to day to support, guide, and problem-solve
There is a
small caseload initially , mainly to stay close to the work and establish your presence. As the team continues to grow and stabilise, that caseload reduces.
This is a
hands-on, on-site leadership role , not a remote position.
The setup
Two established clinics with a stable client base
Existing clinical team already in place
Formal pathway for interns progressing into BCaBA/BCBA roles
Support from ownership, HR, and recruitment functions
The current director has been in place for several years and helped build the service. They are moving into a more specialised role, so this is a handover into a functioning, established environment.
Clinical approach
The focus is on:
Functional skills
Naturalistic teaching
Individualised programming
There isn’t a single rigid model. Clinicians are expected to adapt their approach based on the individual.
What’s different
Privately owned, not PE-backed
Profitable, stable market already in place
Not a turnaround or start-up environment
Leadership role focused on people and clinical quality, not just operations
What they’re looking for
BCBA with ideally 5+ years post-certification (strong 4+ years considered)
Previous leadership experience (Clinical Director, Assistant Clinical Director, or similar)
Experience managing and developing clinical teams
Comfortable being on-site and visible within the team
Strong clinical judgement and ability to handle day-to-day challenges
This role is suited to someone who has already stepped into leadership and wants broader responsibility, rather than someone moving directly from a purely supervisory position.
If you’re looking for a Clinical Director role where you can focus on leading a team and maintaining clinical standards, rather than fixing a broken setup, this is worth a conversation.
