Position Summary
The Credential Program Mentor / Program Manager supports the successful development of teacher credential candidates through coaching, program coordination, and compliance management. This role works closely with school leaders, credential candidates, and external partners to ensure participants meet program requirements and grow as effective educators.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Candidate Support & Mentorship
Provide coaching and guidance to credential candidates throughout the program
Conduct regular check-ins to monitor progress and provide feedback
Support candidates in instructional practice, classroom management, and professional growth
Build positive relationships that encourage candidate success and retention
Program Coordination
Manage program timelines, requirements, and key milestones
Track progress toward credential completion and maintain accurate records
Ensure required documentation is complete and submitted on time
Coordinate meetings, trainings, and communication with participants
Collaboration
Partner with school leaders regarding candidate placements, support needs, and progress
Serve as liaison with credentialing institutions and external program partners
Support continuous improvement of credential program systems and processes
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required
Clear single-subject PE credential that has been issued for at least three years
Experience in K-12 education, coaching, instructional leadership, or educator development
Strong organizational and project management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
Commitment to educational equity and student achievement
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with charter schools
Familiarity with California credentialing requirements
Experience mentoring new teachers or residents
