Job Summary

Information Technology Specialist III

This is an ONSITE position that will require on-call responsibilities.

We are seeking a highly motivated upbeat, friendly, and approachable individual to work in an on-site position within a highly customer service-oriented environment. The incumbent will provide support for Windows and MacOS workstations, Windows servers, specialized software, iOS tablets, printers, network configurations, inventory management etc. Customer interaction and support must be provided in a timely professional manner. The incumbent must be highly skilled in IT support and be knowledgeable in a wide variety of hardware, OS, software, networking and troubleshooting tasks. The incumbent must be detail oriented, adept at following processes, write documentation, be a team player, and work with others to train or be trained on unique systems. This position requires a continued learning effort, must be able to do research for supporting new and old software, adapt to different client needs and, perform other duties as assigned. This position must be available 24x7, be available to work after hours as needed and be in an on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

I nformation Technology Specialists III Desktop computer management for workstations and servers including updates, patches, upgrades and security.
Cross training of peer staff on special software, hardware, and procedures.
Troubleshoot, research, and resolve computer issues.
Windows server management, secure and support.
Inventory management.
Automative process scripting and implementation
Project management for client IT support processes
Computing needs assessment and consultation for hardware and software.
Computer imaging or OS installations for both Windows and Macintosh systems, software installations, remote connection management.
Assist with network connectivity and security.
Printer support, connectivity, and troubleshooting.
Write and maintain Active Directory group policies and preferences.
Writing technical and how-to documentation
Virus or malware identification, removal, and cleaning.
Transport and Travel on and off campus for end user support and equipment installation.
Position is required to be on call to support the designated department and to have a 24x7 availability as needed.
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT:

1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).

Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels:

Information Technology Specialists, III:

Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 6 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 4 years of directly related work experience.

Preferences

Strong coordination, organization, time management, and communication skills.
Project management experience.
Powershell scripting experience.
Microsoft workstation and server with SCCM setup, configuration and maintenance experience.
Mac OS with Jamf management and configuration experience.
Networking experience.
ITIL Foundation Certification.
A+, MCSE, CCNA, Network+, or other applicable certifications.
MS SQL database administration.
Experience with VM server environments running MS Windows server platform.

Physical Requirements and Level of Frequency that may be required:
Environment: Will require lifting, bending, and repetitive desk work such as typing, and long-term sitting.
Nearly Continuously: Sitting, hearing, listening, talking.
Often: Repetitive hand motion (such as typing), walking bending, reaching overhead, lifting and carrying equipment.
