Job Summary

This position supports the organization’s computer systems, software, and networking environments while serving as a primary point of contact for end-user support. It is responsible for provisioning, configuring, updating, and monitoring systems and user environments, and for troubleshooting application, hardware, and communication issues while providing clear, user-focused guidance. The role maintains system performance, stability, and security, ensuring the integrity of systems and data while responding to outages and critical issues. It collaborates with users and team members on system improvements, supports the roll-out of updates and configuration changes, and contributes to process development, documentation, and system backup and monitoring procedures. This position requires a moderate skill set and the ability to complete work of increasing complexity under moderate supervision with some independent judgment. Systems / Support Provide day-to-day technical support for end users and assist in the administration of the organization’s systems and network environment, with a strong focus on user experience. Support users with device setup, system access, and connectivity ( LAN / WAN , VPN ), ensuring reliable performance through routine monitoring and basic troubleshooting. Perform application and account administration, including user provisioning, access management, and support for enterprise systems. Provide responsive application support and clear guidance to help users effectively utilize systems and tools. Support system updates, deployments, and improvements while minimizing disruption to users. Assist in maintaining system security and resolving service issues, and develop and maintain technical and user documentation, backup procedures, and basic system reports.

Responsibilities

Provide timely, customer-focused support for end users, troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, access, and connectivity issues

Respond to user requests for support, system access, and changes with clear communication and follow-through

Provision, configure, and manage user devices, accounts, and applications (e.g., Microsoft Intune and endpoint management tools)

Maintain accurate inventory of IT assets, including tracking, auditing, and lifecycle management of devices and equipment

Perform system and endpoint administration tasks, including software deployment, configuration, and maintenance

Support and maintain endpoint security solutions, including EDR , antivirus, and data loss prevention systems

Perform scheduled system, software, and endpoint updates to maintain performance and security

Monitor backup systems and assist with recovery processes as needed

Provide support for networking, applications, printers, peripherals, and specialized equipment

Assist with implementation, optimization, and documentation of IT systems, tools, and processes

Participate in projects to improve system reliability, security, and overall user experience

Minimum Qualifications

EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT :

1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).

Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels:

Information Technology Specialists, I:

Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience or a master’s (or equivalency) degree.

Information Technology Specialists, II:

Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master’s (or equivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience.

Preferences

Experience providing end-user IT support in a professional environment

Familiarity with endpoint management and identity tools (e.g., Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Entra ID, Tanium)

Experience supporting Windows and/or macOS devices and troubleshooting applications

Scripting or automation experience (e.g., PowerShell or Bash) and system setup configuration
