Standard time ( 8 AM - 5 PM EST)
Day To Day Responsbilities:
Design, develop, and maintain PL/SQL code including stored procedures, functions, packages, and triggers to support business applications.
Write complex, optimized SQL queries for data retrieval, reporting, and backend processing needs.
Perform performance tuning of SQL queries and PL/SQL programs using: Index optimization Query rewriting Execution plan analysis
Use of hints and partitioning strategies Analyze and troubleshoot production issues, identify bottlenecks, and implement fixes to ensure high system performance and stability.
Work closely with application developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into efficient database solutions.
Develop and maintain data models, ensuring proper normalization, relationships, and data integrity constraints.
Build and support ETL processes for data migration, transformation, and integration between systems.
Write and maintain shell scripts (Unix/Linux) for job automation, scheduling, and batch processing.
Monitor database jobs, debug failures, and ensure smooth execution of scheduled processes.
Use tools like SQL Developer / TOAD for development, debugging, and performance analysis.
Implement data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency across systems.
Participate in code reviews, enforce best practices, and ensure adherence to coding standards.
Support release deployments, including database changes, scripts, and rollback strategies.
Maintain proper documentation for database objects, processes, and workflows.
Must Have:
Strong experience in Oracle PL/SQL development
Excellent hands-on experience with Oracle SQL
Expertise in performance tuning (indexes, hints, partitioning)
Experience with stored procedures, triggers, and packages Strong understanding of relational database concepts
Experience with data modeling and normalization
Familiarity with Unix/Linux commands and shell scripting
Experience using SQL Developer, TOAD, or similar tools Knowledge of ETL processes is a plus
Compensation
Hourly Rate:
$60 - $65 per hour
This reflects base compensation and may vary based on candidate qualifications.
