Overview
Our client is seeking a
Senior Accountant
to oversee financial operations across
multiple business entities
within a fast-paced, operationally complex environment. This role will own end-to-end financial reporting while managing and prioritizing the accounting needs of multiple businesses simultaneously.
The Senior Accountant will partner closely with leadership to deliver accurate financial insights, maintain strong controls, and support strategic decision-making across the organization.
Responsibilities
Own and manage the financial reporting process ( P&L, balance sheet, cash flow )
Work within QuickBooks and NetSuite environments
Deliver timely and accurate financial insights and KPI dashboards to leadership
Develop annual
budgets
and
forecasts ; monitor and optimize budget performance
Oversee cash flow, AP/AR, and banking relationships
Identify cost-saving opportunities across intermodal operations
Conduct profitability analysis by route, service line, and customer
Manage audits, payroll, employee benefits, fuel tax filings, and insurance coverage
Establish and maintain internal controls; assess financial risk and exposure
Lead or support a small accounting/finance team
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field OR
5-7 years of experience in a senior finance or controller role
Proficiency in Excel and accounting software ( QuickBooks is a MUST )
Analytical, detail-oriented leader with excellent communication skills
Fully on-site role (5 days per week in the office)
