We are currently looking for skilled
Platform Engineers
to join our internal cloud platform team at
Jeppesen ForeFlight . In this role, you will help build, operate, and secure the foundation that makes it easy for our product teams to run their applications securely and efficiently in AWS.
At our office in central Gothenburg, Sweden, you will work in a one-of-a-kind software development organization with fascinating solutions that make a real difference to people around the world. You will be part of an agile learning organization, surrounded by talented, creative, and dedicated colleagues. You will broaden your perspective by working with 400 professionals from more than 30 different nations, while also being part of a global organization that enables collaboration with customers and colleagues across the world. Most importantly, you will be expected to make a difference. We are very proud of our culture of trust and helpfulness.
Our internal cloud platform team is made up of two closely collaborating sub-areas and we are strengthening both teams:
Platform Tooling - Team X-Force
The X-Force team is responsible for developing and maintaining our internal fork of the open-source project
InfraWeave
(a cloud-native control plane that unites platform and development teams), contributing improvements back to the OSS community, ensuring observability and security of the InfraWeave deployment, and operating our internal Backstage instance that serves as the developer portal for our platform.
The Forerunners team is responsible for developing and maintaining approximately 50 enterprise‑grade Terraform modules across critical AWS services, including VPC, ALB, EKS, RDS, EFS, SNS, SQS, and additional core infrastructure components. Through component and integration testing protocols, we ensure seamless interoperability across modules. The team maintains specialized expertise in Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM), advanced networking solutions (Network Load Balancers, Application Load Balancers), Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service, Auth0 integration, ArgoCD implementation, Istio service mesh architecture, and Elastic Container Registry management. We collaborate strategically with the CloudOps team to enhance and expand our organization's AWS Landing Zone infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain reusable Terraform modules for AWS services
Create and improve component and integration tests to ensure quality and compatibility
Collaborate with product teams to understand their needs and continuously improve the developer experience
Develop, maintain, and contribute to our internal fork of InfraWeave, while also contributing improvements back to the open‑source project
Ensure comprehensive observability, security, and reliability of the InfraWeave deployment within AWS infrastructure
Operate and advance our internal Backstage developer portal to improve developer experience
Contribute to the AWS Landing Zone together with the CloudOps team
Establish and promote best practices in platform engineering, Infrastructure as Code, security, observability, platform engineering, GitOps and open‑source collaboration
About the team
You will be part of a highly qualified and experienced team that owns core building blocks of our internal cloud platform as well as operational platform capabilities. Together, the two sub‑areas create a strong foundation that enables product teams to deliver securely, efficiently, and with confidence in AWS.
We work with GitHub, Terraform, AWS services, InfraWeave, Backstage, ArgoCD, Istio, Rust, and modern observability and security tools. We value high code quality, thorough testing, security‑first thinking, and close collaboration — often using pair and mob programming.
Required Qualifications
Proficiency in English, spoken and written
Demonstrated experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code methodologies
Comprehensive knowledge of AWS services, particularly networking, containerization ( EKS ), and security
Experience developing and implementing tests for infrastructure code, including component and integration testing
Demonstrated experience with platform engineering in cloud environments, preferably AWS
Solid programming experience, preferably in Rust
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate demonstrates an analytical approach to problem‑solving, excellent communication skills across organizational levels, and a strong interest in technology and its practical applications.
We are seeking candidates who are results‑driven, committed to excellence, maintain a professional demeanor, and thrive in dynamic, growth‑oriented environments.
Specific preferred qualifications include:
Extensive experience with Terraform module development and industry best practices
Practical knowledge of Kubernetes (EKS), Istio, ArgoCD, or CIAM solutions such as Auth0
Knowledge of AWS Landing Zones and multi‑account architectures
Experience working with or contributing to open‑source projects, especially in infrastructure or platform engineering
Experience with Backstage or similar developer portals
Strong skills in observability, security, and reliability engineering
Advanced scripting capabilities in Python, Bash, or similar, and proficiency in Linux environments
A DevOps/Platform Engineering mindset emphasizing security, developer experience, and open‑source collaboration
