Job Description
OSP Project Manager
Pay Range: $36/hour to $47/hour Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced
OSP Project Manager
to lead the end-to-end delivery of fiber connectivity solutions. This role serves as the primary post-sale point of contact for customers, ensuring successful planning, execution, and completion of projects. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, project ownership, and the ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders to deliver high-quality telecommunications infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the single point of contact for customers post-sale, providing ongoing support and project communication
Lead the planning, implementation, and execution of fiber connectivity solutions
Manage customer orders, service requests, and installation coordination
Oversee daily activities of construction vendors to expedite OSP construction and fiber splicing
Build and maintain relationships with jurisdictions and right-of-way (ROW) authorities, including cities, counties, and railroads
Coordinate permitting efforts, including encroachment permits, franchise agreements, and building access agreements
Ensure timely submission of permits and monitor performance of engineering and construction vendors
Design and implement commercial and carrier fiber networks, including backbone and lateral builds
Manage projects within electrical substation environments for customer installations
Track project budgets, forecasts, and progress using Salesforce and internal tools
Oversee procurement of materials and equipment for assigned projects
Execute bid processes, including budgeting and cost tracking
Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely project completion
Support customer meetings, including travel to client sites and construction locations as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (preferred)
Minimum 7 years of experience in telecommunications, including:
Outside plant (OSP)
Fiber optics and network infrastructure
Optical transport systems
Project management
Minimum 4 years of experience managing large-scale OSP construction projects
Strong knowledge of:
Structured cabling
Routing and switching
IP protocols
Experience with tools such as MS Excel, Word, Google Earth, and AutoCAD
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and documents
Proven ability to manage multiple aggressive RFPs, design timelines, and construction schedules
Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
Commercially focused with strong business acumen
Additional Requirements
Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to project sites
Ability to perform on-site surveys and attend field meetings
Willingness to meet with municipalities and vendors to support project execution
Availability for occasional on-call duties as required
