Role: Data Developer with Strong DBA background Experience
W2 Contract
Location: San Antonio, TX (Hybrid 3 days a week from the office)
Job Description:
Build data pipelines required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and AWS 'big data' technologies.
Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools: Airflow.
Monitor database performance, conduct regular performance tuning, and optimize queries for maximum efficiency.
Identify and resolve database performance issues, such as slow queries, inefficient indexing, or resource contention.
Implement and maintain database monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve issues.
Working cross-functionally to optimize queries, fix performance bottlenecks, improve existing schemas and design new ones.
Expertise with Postgres system metrics and optimization strategies
At least 3 years of hands-on experience in PostgreSQL & MySQL Database Administration/ Engineering
Hands-on experience in Cloud technology (AWS), Python, bash, Unix and Linux.
Exceptional SQL development and performance tuning skills
Be available for on-call support as needed.
Preferable hands-on experience in Data built tools (DBT) and monitoring like Datadog.
Local in San Antonio, and work in the office 3 days per week.
