BASIC FUNCTION:
The Groundskeeper is responsible for performing general maintenance, including the installation and repair of irrigation systems, and gardening work at assigned school site(s) for District. .
The Groundskeeper works closely with specific staff to perform a variety of general grounds, gardening, installation and maintenance duties in the upkeep of assigned site(s) and related areas.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
♦Plants, cultivates, prunes, shapes, trims and waters trees, shrubs, hedges andplants
♦Plants, fertilizers, waters, mows, edges and cares for lawns
♦Operates hand and power tools and equipment including power mowers, edgers,trimmers, blowers and other grounds maintenance equipment/tools
♦Uses hand tools to work soil and to remove weeds, undergrowth and debris fromschool grounds and landscape areas
♦Keeps school grounds clean; operates backpack blower, sweeps walks, and pickups paper, rubbish and other debris
♦Hoes and rakes weeds, leaves, grass clippings
♦Assists in the installation, maintenance and repair of sprinklers and sprinkler systems as assigned
♦Drivers a pickup truck, tractor and/or flare mower as assigned
