Accounting Position
Reports To: Senior Accountant
Duty Days: 238 Days
Wage/Hour Status: Exempt
Pay Grade: B03
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
CPA certificate with auditing experience preferred
Competency in computerized accounting systems, analysis and computer applications
Three to five years accounting experience
Ability to handle multiple projects and work with minimal supervision
Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
Primary Purpose:
Responsible for completing tasks in financial related areas, including the planning and review of financial operations and systems of departments and campuses.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform periodic reconciliation of accounts.
Review transactions ensuring proper coding and supporting documentation.
Provide accounting assistance to campuses and departments.
Conduct financial reviews and prepare reports for management.
Assist the external auditors in special reviews including various operational areas.
Provide schedules and work papers for the external auditors during the annual financial audit.
Assist in the preparation of the District's Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.
Analyze and monitor campus, department and district-wide financial information.
Develop and monitor financial procedure and internal control documentation.
Review and monitor activity fund procedures and balances.
Other duties as assigned by the Senior Accountant.
Equipment Used:
Personal computer, calculator, copier/scanner, and fax machine
Working Conditions:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
