Job Summary
Job Shift: Days

Job Type: Full Time

The Director of Nursing is responsible for the administrative and clinical aspects of Patient Care Services to include organizing, developing, directing and assuring the deliverance of cost effective, quality patient care. Ensures that patient care on clinical units is performed in accordance with established Hospital, State licensing, The Joint Commission and other applicable regulatory agency policies, procedures and standards. Responsible for the emergency management program to ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and our continued readiness for disasters.

Responsibilities

Develops unit and / or service line specific, Patient Care Programs, policies and procedures that describe how patient care needs or patient populations receiving care are assessed, evaluated and met.

Develops and implements the unit based plan for providing patient care to those requiring care.

Fosters a professional environment.

Markets and develops strategies to grow patient volume.

Implements an effective, ongoing program for Patient Care Services and Emergency Management.

Qualifications
Education:

Required: Bachelors Degree minimal

Preferred: Advanced degree in health care related field

Experience:

Required: 2 years experience in health care management and 2 years experience in clinical related specialty.

License:

Registered Nurse - licensed in the State of Florida

Certifications:

BLS/CPR (AMERICAN HEART ASSN)

ACLS and PALS (AMERICAN HEART ASSN)

CPI (WITHIN 30 DAYS OF HIRE)

TNCC (WITHIN 180 DAYS OF HIRE)

NIH STROKE WITHIN 60 DAYS OF HIRE

St. Marys Medical Center (SMMC), part of the Palm Beach Health Network, is a 420-bed acute care hospital in West Palm Beach. The hospital has been serving Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast for more than 80 years. SMMC is a Level 1 Trauma Center, a state-designated Pediatric Trauma Referral Center, certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, and has a level III NICU. Pediatric services are provided at the Palm Beach Children’s Hospital at St. Marys Medical Center, which is the only dedicated children’s hospital between Ft. Lauderdale and Orlando.
