Lng Utility Gas Inspector
Joe Knows Energy is seeking an experienced LNG Utility Gas Inspector to provide field leadership and inspection oversight for LNG facilities and related gas infrastructure projects across the NYC market. This role is ideal for inspectors with strong technical knowledge of LNG operations who can operate confidently in a fast-paced, highly regulated, and high-visibility urban environment.

Responsibilities
Inspect LNG facility construction, maintenance, and operational activities to ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, and work methods
Provide inspection and oversight support for LNG storage, vaporization, and associated gas distribution systems
Verify contractor adherence to company standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices
Enforce OSHA regulations and ensure all LNG and job-site activities meet safety and environmental policies
Ensure compliance with all Environment, Health, and Safety Plan (E-HASP) requirements
Maintain accurate and detailed field documentation, including daily inspection reports, material tracking, and testing records
Verify safe and proper use of tools, equipment, and materials within LNG operating limits
Coordinate professionally with contractors, utility representatives, inspectors, and stakeholders
Support Quality Assurance field visits and audits
Manage multiple work scopes simultaneously, from active construction through project close-out
Maintain a professional on-site presence and serve as a safety and quality leader in the field
Qualifications
API 1169 Certification
Required
Prior experience inspecting LNG facilities strongly preferred
Experience with gas distribution systems and utility construction
Working knowledge of LNG safety standards, operational controls, and regulatory compliance
Strong understanding of OSHA and utility safety requirements
Ability to work effectively in the NYC market, including traffic, permitting constraints, public interaction, and evolving field conditions
Strong organizational, documentation, and reporting skills
Proven leadership and communication capabilities
Comfortable using digital field reporting systems and technology
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent industry experience
