Job Title:

QC Inspector (Oil & Gas Construction)
Akkodis is seeking a QC Inspector (Oil & Gas Construction) with a client in Baltimore, MD for a 12‑month contract.

Pay Rate
$50‑$55/hr on W2 (the rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors).

We are seeking an experienced Gas Construction QC Inspector / Field Oversight Specialist to support ongoing utility construction projects for the Baltimore area. This is a field‑intensive role requiring daily presence at job sites, ensuring that all gas construction activities meet established quality standards, safety requirements, and regulatory compliance. This role combines hands‑on field inspection with quality tracking and documentation responsibilities, making it critical to project success and audit readiness.

Key Responsibilities

Perform on‑site quality control inspections for gas construction projects, including: plastic and steel main installation, gas services and tie‑ins, fusing operations, common trench construction.

Ensure all work aligns with gas standards, specifications, and safety regulations.

Review and interpret gas prints and construction drawings.

Document and track work progress in quality tracking systems (AS8, uPPM, QCI, etc.).

Maintain accurate and timely records for compliance and audit purposes.

Participate in daily coordination calls (7:30 AM) and field assignments.

Attend weekly in‑person meetings at Spring Gardens (Baltimore, MD).

Collaborate with construction crews, engineers, and stakeholders to resolve quality issues.

Support ServiceNow ticketing workflows for issue tracking and resolution.

Work overtime as needed to ensure timely system updates and project commitments.

Required Qualifications

7+ years of experience in gas utility construction.

Strong experience with plastic and steel gas mains, fusing and service installations, construction oversight and inspection.

Proven experience in Quality Control (QC) / Quality Inspection roles.

Hands‑on experience with quality tracking systems (AS8, uPPM, QCI preferred).

OQ (Operator Qualification) certifications – highly preferred / required for oversight.

Ability to read and interpret gas construction drawings and standards.

Experience with ServiceNow (minimum 1 year).

Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and basic IT tools.

Ability to work fully on‑site daily and travel between job sites.

Preferred Qualifications

BA/BS degree (flexible if strong field experience and certifications are present).

Additional QC certifications (highly valued).

Experience with testing applications and compliance tools.

Prior experience working within systems and standards.
