Summary:
The ServiceNow Developer will collaborate with commonwealth personnel within the ITSM bureau, Office of Administration bureaus, System Specialists, SMEs, and Suppliers. This role requires on-site presence two days per week (local candidates only) and involves designing, developing, and implementing ServiceNow applications, customizing ITSM modules, and integrating third-party tools. The ideal candidate will work closely with Process Owners, Business Analysts, and other developers. A ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification is required, and a Certified Application Developer (CAD) certification is preferred. Strong experience with JavaScript, Glide API, and Agile/Scrum methodologies is essential.
Position Duties and Tasks:
Design, develop, and implement ServiceNow applications and integrations.
Customize core ITSM applications such as Incident, Problem, Change, Request, and CMDB.
Develop and maintain custom applications/modules using ServiceNow Studio.
Create workflows, business rules, client scripts, UI policies/actions, and automated tasks.
Integrate ServiceNow with third-party tools via REST/SOAP APIs and MID Server.
Collaborate with Business Analysts and stakeholders to gather and clarify requirements.
Develop reports, dashboards, and performance analytics widgets.
Perform code reviews, unit testing, and maintain code quality and security.
Maintain documentation on configurations, customizations, and system architecture.
Participate in Agile/Scrum development cycles and sprints.
Required Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience.
Strong knowledge of JavaScript, Glide API, and ServiceNow scripting best practices.
Experience with ITSM and at least one additional module (e.g., ITOM, HRSD, SPM, Source2Pay).
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) is required.
Desired Skills:
ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS-ITSM, HRSD, Discovery).
Experience with Automated Test Framework (ATF).
Exposure to ServiceNow App Engine and Flow Designer.
Understanding of CMDB and Discovery.
Knowledge of Employee Service Portal and custom widget development.
