Clinical Staff - Medical Ancillary Support
This Access Coordinator III works under supervision to function as a patient resource for all scheduling and billing questions and to facilitate comprehensive patient data collections, timely and accurate billing, prompt collections of payment for services rendered, facilitates scheduling coordination and conflicts. This position must be able to perform all duties of the Access Coordinator I & II level and performs other duties to support the patient care activities as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
High School, GED, or formal educational equivalent
Three (3) years of customer service experience preferably in registration, billing, or scheduling in a healthcare environment.
Good communication skills, basic proficiency with computers (preferably MS Office), excellent telephone etiquette skills, and general knowledge of office machines including printers and scanners.
Excellent customer service skills.
Knowledge of basic medical terminology is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
CHAA Certification
Call center experience. Experience in registration, billing, or scheduling in a healthcare environment.
Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
Additional Information:
Collects and posts payments and issues receipts.
Reconciles daily deposit and batch dollars and counsels patients on any and all related financial information.
Conducts insurance verification and benefits explanation by running eligibility on patients, requesting outside records and gathering outside medical records from referrals and files patient charts as needed.
Conducts authorizations and pre-certifications, tracks pre-authorizations, and maintains referrals.
Ensures adequate stock of supplies, and cleans and maintains equipment and waiting rooms.
Perform other duties as needed.
