Position Overview

The Finishing Technician I is responsible for the manual sanding, trimming of composite parts to meet engineering specifications. This role requires attention to detail, proficiency with hand and power tools, and adherence to quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities

Manually sand or trim composite parts according to engineering drawings.
Bond and assemble composite parts using rivets, fasteners, and adhesives, assist senior technicians, and learn complex procedures.
Ensure assemblies meet bonding material and engineering specifications.
Prepare composite surfaces by filling and sanding to required finish standards.
Advise management on best manufacturing practices for efficiency and quality.
Follow all health, safety, and workplace policies.
Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Will Bring to the Team

High school diploma, general education degree (GED) or equivalent
0

1-year experience in finishing and trim.
Must be able to pass required respirator fit testing and remain clean-shaven in areas where a tight-fitting respirator seals to the face, in accordance with OSHA standards.
Must have excellent verbal and communication skills
Must be able to use small hand tools, sanders, rivet guns, drills, manual routers, adhesive applicators, calipers, gauges, and other measuring devices
Must be willing to work well under pressure as part of a strong team
Have a can do, positive attitude

Must be a U.S. Citizen or lawful Permanent Resident in compliance with ITAR regulations.

Hours of Operation

Normal business hours: 7:00AM - 4:00PM; Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends and holidays as scheduled by leadership.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Combination of indoor and outdoor activities with varying conditions
Requires walking, standing, sitting, climbing, balancing, bending, reaching, handling, stooping, kneeling, and crouching
Ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds
May involve operating material handling equipment in a safe manner
Work may include exposure to variable noise levels, fumes, airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, etc., requiring personal protective equipment
Some positions may require working with small parts/components, necessitating excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
Specific vision abilities required, including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
