Job Summary
We are seeking a Cloud Database Architect to design and implement scalable, cloud-based data architectures supporting enterprise-grade applications. This role focuses on modernizing data platforms, defining architectural standards, and enabling high-performance, secure, and compliant data solutions. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership, drive cloud adoption, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data architecture with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Define and promote data architecture strategies, standards, and best practices
Lead the design and implementation of scalable, cloud-native data solutions
Provide technical leadership across complex data and modernization initiatives
Guide adoption of cloud-based data platforms and integration patterns
Design high-performance transactional and analytical data systems
Lead proof of concepts (POCs) to evaluate emerging technologies
Support data platform modernization, including migration from legacy systems
Ensure compliance with data security, privacy, and regulatory requirements
Collaborate with engineering, architecture, and business teams to align solutions with business goals
Develop logical and physical data models
Design and implement data movement solutions using ETL/ELT frameworks
Evaluate and recommend new cloud data technologies and tools
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
12+ years of experience in distributed systems and data architecture
At least 3+ years of experience with cloud database technologies
Strong expertise in relational databases such as Oracle and PostgreSQL
Experience with distributed SQL and NoSQL databases
Experience with data warehousing technologies such as Snowflake or Apache Iceberg
Experience with streaming platforms such as Kafka
Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS and hybrid environments
Experience building scalable data solutions including OLTP, ODS, MDM, and analytics platforms
Experience with data security, access control, and governance
Hands-on experience with data modeling and data architecture design
Experience with ETL/ELT and data integration technologies
Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in financial services or brokerage domains
Experience supporting large-scale, high-volume transactional systems
Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures and modernization strategies
Experience working in Agile delivery environments
