Data Migration Specialist (Financial & HR Systems)

We are seeking a hands-on

Data Migration Specialist

to lead end-to-end data migration activities for Financial and Human Resource systems. The role focuses on extracting, cleansing, transforming, validating, and reconciling data to ensure accurate and complete migration from legacy systems into target platforms.

This is a highly technical execution role requiring strong SQL skills, a deep understanding of data structures, and experience delivering high-quality migration solutions with full traceability, validation, and client sign-off.

Main Responsibilities:

Lead end-to-end data migration for Financial and HR systems.
Analyze source system data structures to identify relationships, dependencies, and data patterns.
Design and implement ETL processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
Perform data cleansing, standardization, deduplication, and transformation.
Develop and maintain data mapping documents and transformation rules.
Build and execute data validation and reconciliation scripts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Support UAT activities and resolve data-related defects.
Produce migration reports, reconciliation outputs, and final sign-off documentation.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex data migration issues during testing and cutover.
Skills and Qualifications:

4+ years of experience in data migration or data engineering roles.
Strong SQL / T-SQL expertise.
Hands-on experience with ETL processes and tools.
Experience with Financial and/or HR data structures is an advantage.
Strong data reconciliation, validation, and debugging skills.
Ability to produce clear technical documentation (mapping, ETL design, reconciliation reports).
Experience working in structured migration phases (mock loads, dry runs, cutover).
Strong attention to detail and data accuracy mindset.
Fluent in both Spanish and English (mandatory).
