Senior Project Manager - Federal Architecture (188374)

HDR is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our Federal Architecture Practice in either Charlotte or Raleigh, NC. In this role, you'll lead multidisciplinary teams throughout a project’s lifecycle, from development and initiation to close‑out, ensuring deliverables are completed on schedule and within budget.

Responsibilities

Direct and coordinate work of single or multi‑discipline teams throughout the project’s lifecycle (from development & initiation to close‑out).

Manage all aspects of large, multi‑discipline projects or medium‑sized projects with high technical complexity, involving a large project staff.

Produce and coordinate multiple projects concurrently.

Establish and maintain client relations; participate in marketing, contractual, design and production meetings.

Conduct work sessions for deliverable development in conjunction with other staff and stakeholders.

Coordinate staffing and workload through the entire project life cycle, ensuring completion of deliverables on schedule.

Track financial aspects of projects; adjust work effort to keep work within agreed‑to budget and schedule.

Work with Accounting, Operations and Business leadership for periodic project reviews.

Implement QA/QC procedures.

Supervise large project staff and mentor less‑experienced Project Managers.

Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience successfully managing large federal projects and teams.

Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED.

PMP certification.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.

10 years of related experience.

Minimum 5 years of project management experience.

Registered Architect.

Ability to lead a team on projects.

Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project).

Knowledge and experience within the local and regional market.

Strong planning and mentoring skills.
