Flexographic Ink Customer Technician
The responsibilities of the Flexographic Ink Customer Technician are:
Provide on-site technical support at customer printing facilities, supporting flexographic presses across narrow, mid-web, and wide-web applications.
Assist customers with ink formulation adjustments, color matching, and press-side optimization to meet print quality and performance requirements.
Troubleshoot printing issues related to color consistency, adhesion, viscosity, drying, dot gain, and press setup.
Conduct press trials, product qualifications, and new ink introductions in collaboration with internal technical and sales teams.
Maintain accurate documentation of customer formulations, trials, corrective actions, and technical recommendations.
Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to improve ink performance, reduce waste, and enhance press efficiency.
Train customer operators and supervisors on ink handling, color control, and best-practice procedures.
Act as a technical liaison between customers and internal departments including manufacturing, R&D, quality, and sales.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards when handling inks and chemicals.
Travel to customer sites as required within an assigned territory.
The successful Flexographic Ink Customer Technician will have the following:
Associate's degree or technical certification in Printing Technology, Chemical Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
Minimum 3-5 years of experience supporting flexographic printing operations, preferably in packaging or commercial printing.
Strong working knowledge of flexographic inks, substrates, anilox systems, and press mechanics.
Experience with color matching, color measurement (spectrophotometers), and color management systems.
Ability to troubleshoot complex press and ink-related challenges in a fast-paced production environment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-focused mindset.
Willingness to travel regularly to customer locations.
