Class A CDL Drivers Wanted
We are hiring experienced, customer-focused Class A CDL drivers for local intrastate pickup and delivery operations within California. This role involves daily routes with multiple stops for pickups and deliveries, typically returning home each night (no over-the-road or multi-day hauls). Drivers must comply with California-specific intrastate regulations, including state Hours of Service rules.
Key Responsibilities
Safely operate a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) for local pickups and deliveries within California while following all traffic laws, company policies, and state regulations.
Perform thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any issues promptly.
Load, unload, or assist with freight as needed (may include hand-loading, pallet jacks, or liftgate use; most loads are drop-and-hook or assisted).
Navigate urban, highway, and rural California routes efficiently, handling traffic, construction, and port/agricultural areas as applicable.
Maintain accurate records using an Electronic Logging Device (ELD) for hours of service compliance (required for intrastate in California since 2024).
Adhere to California intrastate Hours of Service rules:
Up to 12 hours of cumulative driving time after 10 consecutive hours off duty.
No driving after the end of the 16th hour on duty following 10 hours off.
Maximum 80 hours on duty in any 8 consecutive days (with 34-hour restart provision available).
No federal 30-minute break rule applies in the same way; focus on overall duty limits.
Provide excellent customer service during pickups/deliveries, including paperwork, signatures, and communication.
Communicate with manager for route updates, delays, or issues.
Requirements
Valid California Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) (or transferable to CA).
Must be at least 18 years old (California allows 18+ for intrastate non-Hazmat operations; 21+ required if any interstate or HazMat involved).
At least 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience (local P&D, regional, or OTR acceptable; recent experience preferred).
Clean driving record: No major violations (DUI, reckless driving, etc.) in the past 57 years; no more than 3 moving violations or at-fault accidents in the past 3 years.
Must pass DOT physical, pre-employment drug screen, background check, and road test.
Ability to lift up to 5075 lbs repeatedly, climb in/out of cab, and work in varying weather conditions.
Strong navigation skills (GPS, maps) and familiarity with California roads/traffic patterns.
Proficient with Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) and basic technology.
Must be eligible to work in the United States and hold valid medical certificate.
