Welder
This role focuses on MIG and/or TIG welding of aluminum and steel components used in commercial vehicle upfitting. You will read and interpret design prints, perform high-quality welds to defined standards, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Read and interpret design prints to determine weld requirements and ensure products meet specifications.
Match product materials to design specifications using appropriate measuring tools.
Perform MIG welding operations on steel and aluminum using MIG welding machines.
Perform TIG welding operations on aluminum and steel when required.
Grind excess weld material to achieve the required finish and surface quality.
Clean weld spatter and fill pinholes to meet appearance and structural standards.
Pass welding tests to AWI standards for 3/8" plate and thinner materials.
Identify and promptly report nonconforming parts to the Quality Department.
Follow established quality standards and support continuous improvement initiatives in welding processes.
Maintain a safe and organized work area in a busy automotive manufacturing environment.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 2 years of MIG and/or TIG welding experience.
Hands-on experience welding aluminum and steel components.
Proficiency in MIG welding on steel and aluminum.
Ability to read and interpret design prints and weld symbols.
Ability to use measuring tools to verify material and dimensional requirements.
Capability to pass welding tests to AWI standards for 3/8" plate and thinner materials.
Skill in grinding and finishing welds to meet appearance and structural requirements.
Attention to detail in identifying and reporting nonconforming parts.
Ability to work the 2nd shift (2:00 p.m.
10:00 p.m.) with flexibility for overtime as needed.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with both MIG and TIG welding is strongly preferred.
Background in aluminum welding, stainless steel welding, and sheet metal fabrication.
Experience with flux core welding processes.
Experience in an automotive or manufacturing environment.
Comfort working in a busy production setting with evolving layouts and processes.

The position is on 2nd shift from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with overtime as needed that may require starting earlier or staying later depending on production demands. You will use MIG and TIG welding equipment, grinders, and standard fabrication tools while working in a production-focused setting that emphasizes safety, quality, and efficiency.
