Description

Position Title

: Shipping Coordinator
Location:

Ontario, California
Summary:

Responsible for coordinating and optimizing the transportation functions of our paper manufacturing facility.
Daily Operations & Scheduling
Maintain a real-time truck schedule and monitor trim schedules to sync production with outbound logistics.
Secure transportation capacity by assigning loads to carriers and planning delivery appointments.
Partner closely with the Logistics Supervisor to ensure all daily shipments are cleared and dispatched.
Proactively follow up with carriers to guarantee on-time delivery and resolve transit delays.
Carrier & Financial Management
Execute a least-cost routing strategy to optimize freight spend without compromising service.
Solicit, analyze, and maintain freight rates within the transportation management system.
Approve freight invoices, including detention and accessorial charges.
Maintain positive business relationships with carriers and customers through regular performance reviews and meetings.
Analysis & Compliance
Perform cost-benefit analyses on shipping lanes and logistics projects.
Conduct Safety Observations to maintain facility-wide safety standards.
Qualifications

What we're looking for:
1-3 years' experience as a shipping coordinator
Strong time-management, organization, and prioritize skills with the ability to multitask and meet multiple concurrent deadlines.
Solid written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact positively with all levels of the organization.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Analytical Ability: Strong aptitude for analyzing numerical/statistical data and applying cost-benefit techniques.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills for negotiating with carriers and reporting to internal leadership.
Adaptability: Proven ability to balance immediate priorities with long-term strategic objectives.

Pay Transparency: The starting hourly rate for this opportunity ranges from $22.00 -$28.00 per hour. Other rewards may include quarterly bonus eligibility, which is based on company and individual performance.
