Roles and Responsibilities

The Data/Information Management AVP (Banking Operations & Analytics) focuses on improving efficiency, accuracy, and insights through data and process optimization. Responsibilities include data analysis, report generation, and automated solution development.

Data Collection and Analysis : Gather data from multiple sources, clean, and analyze to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.

Report Generation : Design, develop, and maintain regular and ad‑hoc reports for stakeholders, presenting key performance indicators, operational metrics, and financial data.

Automation Development : Identify manual, repetitive tasks and develop automated solutions using SQL, SAS, Python, PySpark, Tableau, etc.

Process Improvement : Analyze existing workflows to pinpoint inefficiencies and recommend improvements, often leveraging automation.

Dashboard Creation : Build interactive dashboards using Tableau, Python, Power BI to provide real‑time visibility into performance and trends.

Stakeholder Communication : Present findings and recommendations to various departments and management, translating complex data into clear insights.

System Maintenance : Ensure accuracy and reliability of reporting systems and automation tools, troubleshooting issues, and performing regular updates.

Documentation : Document data requirements, collection, processing, cleaning, and exploratory data analysis, including process automation and visualization techniques.

Data Governance and Quality : Contribute to maintaining data quality, consistency, and adherence to governance policies.

Data Handling : Work with large, complex, and unstructured data to evaluate, recommend, and support the implementation of business strategies.

Core Competencies

Data Analysis & Insight Extraction : Apply analytical techniques to complex datasets to generate actionable insights.

Data Manipulation & Querying : Expertly query and manipulate data from various sources using SQL, Python, R, ensuring quality and readiness for analysis.

Reporting & Visualization Tools : Use Tableau, Power BI, Qlik Sense, MicroStrategy to design, develop, and maintain dynamic dashboards and reports.

Automation Technologies & Scripting : Identify automation opportunities, develop and implement automated solutions, and optimize existing workflows.

Problem‑Solving : Proactively identify issues and develop practical, value‑driven solutions.

Qualifications

8+ years of experience in reporting & automation, data/information management, with proficiency in SQL, SAS, Python, Tableau, MicroStrategy, etc.

Ability to develop scripts for automating routine tasks (e.g., Python scripting for file processing, API integrations).

Track record of developing reports, performing data analysis, and implementing automation solutions.

Strong understanding of reporting and automation data & analytics ecosystem, establishing scalable analytics frameworks—including data strategy, process optimization, actionable insights, and visualization techniques.

Experience developing and deploying AI solutions in collaboration with technology and business partners.

Experience with banking operations (e.g., expense analytics, movement of funds, cash flow management, fraud analytics, ROI) and knowledge of regulatory requirements related to data privacy and security.

AI / Gen AI proficiency and thought leadership in financial/business analysis and/or operational risk analysis, influencing key business drivers.

Education

Bachelor’s/University degree in STEM; Master’s degree preferred.
