Smashing Dishes, the newest brand from Tony Caters, has a terrific opening for a Warehouse Specialist/Driver! The Warehouse Specialist/Driver is responsible for maintaining efficient and organized supplies and storage spaces that support our offsite catered events and for packing out the specific equipment needed for our staff to be successful at those events. This role is responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of food, beverages, and event supplies to various client locations. The Warehouse Specialist/Driver plays a key part in ensuring a positive customer experience by maintaining professionalism, food quality, and presentation during transport and delivery. Schedule flexibility is essential and occasional weekend shifts may be required. The range for this full-time position is $25 - $30 per hour depending upon experience.
Founded in 2009, Tony Caters is a dynamic, well-regarded off-site catering company that produces events in the South Bay and all around the greater Bay Area. We also have two additional cafes located inside the Tech Interactive Museum in downtown San Jose and at the Winchester Mystery House.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
Warehouse:
Constantly work to seek operational efficiency in warehouse/storage areas. Keep the warehouse neat and tidy, assuring that any items brought back from events are put away within a reasonable time. Pack out items for future events ONE DAY Prior to the actual event date. Organization and management of various storage spaces/sheds. Conduct weekly inventories (as assigned, etc.) Basic facilities-related tasks that support organization of the space. Special projects related to inventories and overall organization infrastructure.
Event Prep:
Load and unload trucks with supplies for catering events. Pack out supplies for events based on paperwork provided from Production department. Under the direction of the Logistics Manager, assist in operations-related special projects related to catering. Be able to accomplish specific tasks on a timely basis and explain specific processes undertaken to achieve results. Assist the kitchen staff with prep and/or running to the store for any items needed. Ability to fill-in for catering staff at events (as need arises).
Transportation:
Ensure on-time delivery and set-up of catered events as well as rental pick-ups for events. Work with Kitchen, Sales, and Operations Management, as well as Caf Supervisor to ensure all necessary items are transferred accurately between our three locations. Make recommendations to Senior Management on way to make this process more effective and efficient. Special attention to be paid to meeting the needs of any events scheduled for those days. Under the direction of the Logistics Manager, ensure the fleet of delivery vehicles are inspected and maintained on a routine basis. Ensure necessary forms and documentation are correctly filled-out and turned on as needed. Work with Logistics Manager on any special vehicle-related projects.
Requirements
Friendly and upbeat attitude is a must! Previous experience in warehouse management. Catering experience a plus. Fluency in English/Spanish is a plus. Flexible schedule with availability for occasional weekends. Clean DMV record. Responsible, accountable and task-oriented. Must be able to work continuously while standing for long periods of time. Must be able to lift, pull and push materials/products to complete assigned job tasks. Qualified candidates must be able to perform the essential functions of this position satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation.
