
Accountant

The accountant is responsible for preparation, analysis and recording of financial activity for Spectrum and consolidated companies books and accounting support. Spectrum is growing rapidly, and a key role of the accountant will be supporting the development and growth of the financial infrastructure.
This is a hybrid role; candidate must be able to travel to the Lake Mary corporate office on a weekly basis as needed.
Salary is $60,000, depending on skills & experience
Some
examples
of tasks include:
Responsible for full cycle accounting and ensuring integrity of information in financial accounting system
Develop documentation of accounting policies and procedures as needed
Generate monthly financial reports and ad hoc reporting, as required
Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
Prepare journal entries and ensure proper documentation
Prepare invoices for customers and process incoming payments
Calculate provider bonuses
Assist with the development of necessary corrective actions to improve financial performance and improve operational performance
Support annual external audit
Other duties assigned or required
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance from a traditional campus-based program
3 - 5 years experience of progressive accounting and finance experience
Knowledge of GAAP accounting policies and procedures
Excellent oral/written communication skills
Hands-on, problem-solving approach
Ability to work in a changing environment
Professional demeanor
Able to work flexible hours as needed
Ability to travel occasionally
Preferred Skills
Experience with Sage Intacct accounting systems preferred
Experience in medical provider practice setting strongly preferred
ADP and Concur experience a plus
Public accounting experience a plus
Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial and other medical insurance programs
Knowledge of health and medical delivery systems in a fee-for-service and managed care environment.
