OVERVIEW OF THE SENIOR ACCOUNTANT ROLE:


Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to take ownership of lease accounting and support key financial processes. This role will play a critical part in the month-end close, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, with a strong focus on ASC 842. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys digging into technical accounting, improving processes, and collaborating across departments.



SENIOR ACCOUNTANT RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Manage full-cycle lease accounting under ASC 842, including initial setup, modifications, remeasurements, and terminations

  • The Senior Accountant will support month-end and year-end close processes through journal entries, account reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records

  • Perform variance analysis and provide insights to leadership to support business decisions

  • The Senior Accountant will act as the subject matter expert for lease accounting and assist with internal and external audit requests



QUALIFICATIONS OF THE SENIOR ACCOUNTANT ROLE:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including ASC 842

  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis)

  • Experience with ERP systems; Oracle Fusion and LeaseQuery a plus

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
