Job Summary: The Inspector Operator I position is responsible for completing inspections for various stages of production: process start up, in process, end of run, and final inspection requirements. Communicating nonconforming or out of control status is a key function. Also, supporting production operations will be required as needed.
Essential Functions:
Inspect materials, components, and products to ensure they meet quality specifications both visually and dimensionally in accordance with specifications or other Quality System requirements.
Produce accurate records of completed inspections, both written and electronically.
Assist production personnel running presses by operating those presses as needed for breaks and other temporary activities.
Ensure nonconforming or out-of-control inspections are communicated to production personnel in a timely manner.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Education, Skills, and/or Experience Required:
High School Diploma/GED preferred.
Experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing environment preferred.
Ability to do basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide and decimals).
Good manual dexterity and visual ability with high attention to detail.
Ability to read, write in English, comprehend and follow work instructions.
Ability to use hand tools.
Ability to use a computer.
Physical Requirements: Able to lift up to 40 pounds. Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, lifting, pushing-pulling, and reaching.
