Nonprofit Accountant
Location: St. Paul, MN (Hybrid Schedule)
Compensation: $60,000 - $70,000 base annually

Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations and Reporting
- Manage daily accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll allocations, and general ledger activity
- Prepare monthly financial statements, variance analysis, and program‑level reporting
- Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and restricted funds
- Track grant expenditures and ensure compliance with federal, state, and foundation requirements
- Prepare grant budgets, financial reports, and reimbursement submissions
- Maintain documentation for restricted and unrestricted funding streams
- Assist with year‑end audit preparation and serve as a liaison with external auditors
- Ensure adherence to GAAP and nonprofit financial best practices
- Support internal control processes and financial policy compliance
- Partner with program leaders to support budget understanding and financial decision‑making
- Assist with annual budget development and forecasting
- Contribute to process improvement and accounting systems enhancements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2–5+ years of accounting experience (nonprofit experience preferred but not required)
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Experience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, or similar
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders
